2021 Monsters of Detroit Championship, what to expect....

First....ABSOLUTELY ALL TRUCKS MUST BE SOLID AXLE!! Please turn to the Monsters of Detroit for example platforms, Tire regulations, and more!!

Replica trucks are always welcome but as this series will be televised, Originals ARE encouraged!!

Current Standings

ALL RACERS REQUIRED TO PAY 10 DOLLARS CASH OR PAYPAL TO ENTER.

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE MONSTERS OF DETROIT SERIES WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A RELEASE AS THIS WILL BE BROADCASTED, AND TURNED INTO A YOUTUBE SERIES!! THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE!! IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR NAME OR FACE TO APPEAR ONLINE, THAN WEAR A MASK, AND PROVIDE A NICKNAME!! AS A DRIVER YOU WILL BE INTERVIEWED IN FRONT OF A CAMERA!!

Please read the class rules prior to showing up....Ive made them very clear and thorough so you know where your truck will race. Please dont show up and start arguing over the build rules...they are here...they always have been...I know what they are because I wrote them...and they always will be right here. I refuse to change rules based on 1 truck. Dont even try.

All trucks will go through a tech inspection prior to the start of the event. You will be placed in a group according to your build specs. Any trucks caught cheating the class rules will be red flagged for the event....and any acquired points will be removed from the driver from said truck. If a martial suspects the truck is outside of regulations and flags you for inspection....the driver must immediately pull the body off and bring it to the martial for inspection. Failure to do so will result in a DNF....points will be removed....and the truck can not run again until inspection is completed. If the Martial inspects the truck and there is no foul play....the driver may carry on and replace his truck to the track...keeping all acquired points. If there is foul play....the truck will not receive any points for the event....will be removed from the race...and can not compete again until it is fixed. Theres seriously no reason to cheat....it takes all of the fun out of scale spec racing

We at Detroit RC Offroad are EXTREMELY excited to bring the Monsters of Detroit back to the light.

Though for 2021, There will be some HUGE changes made to the format, rules, trucks, and of course track layouts.

As mentioned above, all participants will be required to sign a release and be filmed/interviewed. The Monsters of Detroit series is being done in a way thats never been done in R/C competition before. We hope everyone can abide to this requirement and we can make history together in the R/C hobby.

 HOW WILL THE BRACKETS WORK?

This is something all of us admins in Detroit RC Offroad had to really work out. Most RC Monster Truck competitions will allow each driver up to 4 or 5 trucks per class. Monsters of Detroit will not. Each driver is only permitted to run 1 truck per class, However, they can bring up to 4 trucks to the qualify round. The fastest time set between all the trucks you enter will advance to the brackets. The others will not. Any trucks that you bring that did not qualify for the brackets CAN be run in the optional freestyle competitions.

The championship series will feature a (up to) 12 truck bracket. The qualifying round will be the top 12 qualifying times, advancing to round 1 of the race event. Brackets will be traditional 2 truck elimination style races.

If the 12 brackets are NOT filled in your class and you brought multiple trucks, even still, only your fastest time will make it to round 1.

Because of this rule, points will be accumulated by truck name, as well as the name of the driver.

The reason for the 1 per driver rule is simple, We dont want 1 driver to potentially dominate the field so other drivers are eliminated early on. Everybody is paying their 10 dollars per truck here, and we will make sure every truck gets to freestyle.

There IS a loophole to this of course....Which brings us to the next subject...

TEAMS!!

Teams can be made of up to 4 trucks per class. You can bring people along to drive your other trucks for you. This is the ONLY way you can have more than 1 of your trucks in the brackets.

Your team drivers MUST run the qualify round. You can not qualify them into the brackets than pass along the truck to your driver. All of your drivers MUST qualify themselves, in order to run in the Monsters of Detroit brackets.

VENUES

Venues may, or may not feature pit tables, or power sources for charging batteries. Many of these races will be in the heat of the summer, and in direct sunlight. Please be sure to wear sun glasses, dress accordingly, wear sun block, or bring your own canopies for your pit area.

Detroit RC Offroad members have been extremely generous in allowing us to build tracks on their land. So please, Dont litter, Dont act like a child, and lets all have fun!!

***PENALTIES***

Jump start....If a driver jumps the start he will be disqualified. There will be a camera on the lights.

Corner cutting...5 second penalties will be added to each cone hit. If a driver goes off track (4 wheels) he will be disqualified.

Drivers WILL be required to hit ramps with BOTH FRONT TIRES. If 1 front tire does not hit the hit ramp/jump/crush cars it will result in a DQ. Cameras will be on race lanes.

BETWEEN ROUND REPAIRS

For this, we turned to full scale rule books. Each team will have to have the truck repaired and at the start line by the time their next round is called. If the truck is NOT prepared. You will be given 1 additional minute. If the truck is NOT on the line and driver is NOT in race position than we will advance the fast loser. This rule is tough, I know. But thats the laws of racing. You win some and you lose some.

If there is a dispute, it must be made to the admins directly. NOT to the public or other drivers.

These rules are non negotiable....if the martials call the penalty the penalty will stick. You can yell til your blue in the face....but it will not change.

Which brings us to the next....and MOST important rule of Monsters of Detroit....

Slandering....yelling...racism....causing fights and arguments with people will NOT be tolerated!! You will be banned from racing and will not return. We are not competitive...we are having fun racing our tiny Monsters....and thats the way its going to stay here in Monsters of Detroit. Please report any problems to myself, or Teddy Smith Jr so we can help resolve any issues you may have....do not turn nothing into something.

And finally....though this isnt a rule. We are encouraging original trucks. Be creative here. Come up with your own liveries and truck names. We absolutely allow replicas of all of our favorite trucks. We simply dont want our events to have multiples of the same trucks (i.e. 6 Grave Digger trucks) racing each other. It will be filmed and turned into a series, so lets make it our own!!
