Please read the class rules prior to showing up....Ive made them very clear and thorough so you know where your car will race. Please dont show up and start arguing over the build rules...they are here...they always have been...I know what they are because i wrote them...and they always will be right here. I refuse to change rules based on 1 car. Dont even try.

All cars will go through a tech inspection prior to the start of the event. You will be placed in a group according to your build specs. Any cars caught cheating the class rules will be red flagged for the event....and any acquired points will be removed from the driver from said car. If a martial suspects the car is outside of regulations and flags you for inspection....the driver must immediately pull the body off and bring it to the martial for inspection. Failure to do so will result in a DNF....points will be removed....and the car can not run again until inspection is completed. If the Martial inspects the car and there is no foul play....the driver may carry on and replace his car to the track...keeping all acquired points. If there is foul play....the car will not receive any points for the event....will be removed from the race...and can not compete again until it is fixed. Theres seriously no reason to cheat....it takes all of the fun out of scale spec racing.

Things have really taken off for the Detroit RC Offroad rally racing competitions. and for the 2021 race schedule we have introduced (at long last) an FIA style WRX competition. Instead of traditional multi-stage rally racing, we run very close quarters circuit racing under FIA WRX rules.

ALL cars must have LARGE Driver number on roof. This is how we identify whos car is crossing the line to count laps. if it can not be seen....you MUST fix it. I dont care if you make a temporary fix with tape and a marker....but it must be legible.

Make sure you have charged batteries, and your car is in full working order. Most of our racing venues will have pit tables and electricity provided, though we may an event that does not.

​

Our WRX series is made up of 4 qualifiers, Semi-finals, and the final round. No more than 6 cars on the track in any qualifier, means depending on attendance, each round may be split to multiple qualifiers. 

 

EXAMPLE:

12 entries = 2 qualifiers per round. Which will be "A group and B group"

 

If we have more than 3 groups per round, the qualifiers will drop from 3 minutes to 2 minutes.

All rounds will require at least 1 joker lap. Failure to take a joker lap will automatically put you in last place, in any round including the final.

 

Absolutely NO martials on the track. Driver MUST martial their own car. There ARE ways to accommodate this rule for disabled drivers. Disabled drivers CAN use a friend, spouse, or kid (over 10 years) to martial the car for them, However the helper MUST stand next to the driver, and the driver CAN NOT move their car UNTIL HIS HELPER HAS RETURNED NEXT TO HIM!! failure to adhere to this rule will result in penalty.

 

Drivers....after you martial your car, you MUST RETURN TO YOUR DRIVER STAND BEFORE MOVING THE CAR!! You can NOT drive your car from anywhere else on the track....and you can not begin to drive the car while walking back. When you martial your car you CAN NOT STAND IN THE RACE LANE....AND YOU CAN NOT BLOCK RACERS CAUSING CRASHES!! If you physically run out in front of racing cars....you will be penalized, if it happens repeatedly you will be disqualified....its simple guys, just wait for the cars to pass.

 

Reverse....Using reverse in a WRX race almost seems like a requirement. Theres a LOT of trading paint and we understand that. HOWEVER you can NOT reverse into oncoming traffic. This really SHOULD NOT have to be said, nut apparently it does. This can cause MASSIVE wrecks. First time you will be penalized, repeated offense will result in being disqualified. Once again, just wait for the cars to pass!!

***PENALTIES***

Jump start....If a driver jumps the gun, the race will immediately be restarted. The driver that caused to restart will be required to take 1 additional joker lap that round, for a total of 2. If the driver jumps the start on the restart he will be disqualified from the round, and must remove his car from the track by safely pulling off.

Corner cutting.....(4 wheels off)....additional Joker lap.

DELIBERATE CRASHES...Honestly this will not be tolerated. If you deliberately crash an opponents car you will most likely be asked to leave the event.

ROUGH DRIVING...Driving roughly will result in an additional joker lap for a total of 2. If the driver continues with rough housing they will be asked to leave the event. 

​

These rules are non negotiable....if the martials call the penalty the penalty will stick. You can yell til your blue in the face....but it will not change.

Which brings us to the next....and MOST important rule of Detroit RC Offroad rally car racing....

Slandering....yelling...racism....causing fights and arguments with people will NOT be tolerated!! You will be banned from racing and will not return. We are not competitive...we are having fun racing our tiny cars....and thats the way its going to stay here in Detroit RCWRC. Please report any problems to myself, or Teddy Smith Jr so we can help resolve any issues you may have....do not turn nothing into something.

And finally....though this isnt a rule and I encourage creativity....we are racing scale rally cars here....we dont require any replicas but would like the cars to fit the bill. Its hard to call it scale rally car racing with muscle cars, exotic sports cars, and super cars. Build what you want....we wont turn you away over a muscle car body....we just ask for the sake of the cameras to keep it realistic.
