A Twist to R/C Offroading

wrc/wrx build rules

xvchassis.jpg

Our WRC and WRX races bring extremely tight competition to the scale R/C world like no other.

With only 190mm and 200mm (width) sedan chassis being able to run, it can get very comical, and very tense running in harsh offroad conditions, as fast as you possible can.

By clicking the link below, you will be shown the build regulations forour rally car races.

Beware however that the Traxxas 1/10th scale Ford Fiesta is NOT allowed to run in this series. It is in NO WAY a 10th scale car as its dimensions are the same as an 8th scale car!!

WRX WORLD RALLYCROSS

eVENT RULES...

Our WRX Championship series was started in Winter of 2021. This series provides not only a true to life FIA rallycross event for our tiny cars, but also provides harsh elements that need to be braved by both the car, as well as the driver. Frigid temperatures, snow, mud, ice, water, dust, and grit are the real stars of these events. These events are very unpredictable, with track conditions that constantly change between rounds!

If you have a large dirt area, or an indoor track at your hobby shop and want to host one of these races, please contact us via the Detroit RC Offroad Facebook group, so we can come and inspect the area prior to scheduling.

eVENT RULES...

Started in 2017, our WRC events run just like traditional WRC rally car race events. Unlike WRX, the WRC cars run one at a time, on a point to point track, divided into 6 stages (or more) to accumulate the fastest overall time.

In many cases these are pre-staged on foot trails in the local parks. We have seen some gruesome wrecks at these events. Using sharp reactions, and thinking 2 turns ahead, is what wins these races.

The WRC series is the bread and butter of the Detroit RC Offroad rally racing events. The competition is fierce....yet very laid back and a LOT of fun!!

The WRC EVENTS

tRADITIONAL MULTI-STAGE

Our WRC events are set on both fixed courses, as well as on foot paths through our local Metro Detroit.

These events are your traditional rally style. Multiple cars set course 1 at a time from a start to finish line to set the best times possible. The races will be set with (usually) 6 stages. the driver with the best time overall will be set the rally winner.

These courses in many cases are ungroomed, sometimes extremely technical, and narrow. Strategy is key for gaining the win at these events instead of brute horsepower.

Going over edges, off track, nailing cones, and going over time limits in the repair area all build penalties. We have a detailed write up of the WRC race events which you can find above.

RALLY CROSS

Our WRX Rally Cross events are based on the European FIA World Rally Cross Championship.

All of our WRX events will continue to use the very same grouping system as our current WRC multi-stage events.

The difference is, in WRX you will be pitted against your competition in circuit style racing.

As in FIA, We will run 4 qualifiers, a semi-final, and a Final round. whomever places in 1st on the final round is the winner of the WRX event.

All 4 qualifiers will be 3 minutes, plus 1 lap. all drivers in EACH qualifier will be required to take at least 1 Joker lap.

Semi-final and Final rounds will be 5 minutes in length. The Semi-Final will be 5+1 lap, and the Final will be 6+1 lap. Both the Semi-Final AND the Final will require at least 1 Joker lap.

WRX is new to Detroit RC Offroad for the 2021 season. We cant wait to get this started!!
